Pre-UCTF History
Gene Starwind's story really began at age 14.  One day, Gene's Father was out in space with his crew and his son.  One day, a mercenary's ship came and attacked the ship.  There were may damages and the ship was close to being destroyed.  Gene's father did the ultimate sacrifice.  He throw his son in the only escape capsule and launched it before the ship explodes.  Gene has to witness his father being killed right in front him in space.  Since that horrible moment, he has developed a phobia of outer space, a trigger of trauma of his father's death.

Seven years later, Gene set up a special business on Sentinel III with Jim Hawking... "Starwind & Hawking", a company that specializes in bounty hunting, spare parts for any machine, and other odd jobs.  One day, he was offered a job from a young lady who introduced herself as "Rachel", asking for protection.  Although Jim had his suspicions, Gene quickly took the job... mainly because he thought "Rachel" was his type.  They met with "Rachel", and the two started protecting her... and just in time, too.  Just after meeting "Rachel", Gene was attacked by Kei Pirate Ninjas.  Gene easily beat them, but he later got caught in a fued with the Kei Pirates because of and more.  He later finds out that "Rachel" was under disguise.  She was really the legendary outlaw, "Hot Ice" Hilda.

The real reason why Hilda hired Gene & Jim because she needed protection from the Kei Pirates because she stole something valuable.  They enter a warehouse to find the package Hilda stole.  With a gun barrel to Hilda's jugluar, she tells Jim the code to unlock the seal, and the group finds a naked bio-android girl... Melfina.  Melfina had no recollections of who she is, who she was, why she exists, or anything about her except her name.  Gene made a promise that he would find out Melfina's true origins, and Melfina joins the crew.

Hilda, also, had something stolen from the Kei Pirates... an experimental spaceship codenamed the XGP.  Unfortunately, Hilda couldn't get it work without Melfina... so that's why she stole her from the Kei Pirates.  With Melfina with them, Gene, Jim, & Hilda could pilot the XGP, a spaceship built by outlaws, pirates, and the millitary for one sole purpose.. to find the Galactic Leyline.  However, they're mission were not without hinderances.  The Kei Pirates attacked the crew, and Hilda's ship, "Horus" was badly damaged.  She tried to exit her ship and board the XGP through an escape rope from the XGP.  Unfortunately, while she fought with the pirates, the rope broke, and Hilda and other pirates drifted toward a star.  Gene wanted to rescue Hilda, but doing so would have been an act of suicide.  The star's gravitational pull would drag the XGP to the star.  Gene, Jim & Melfina had to watch helplessly as Hilda died a death of a true outlaw.

Gene had the ship repaired on Hei Fong afterwards and gave the ship a new paint job... red... the same color of Gene's hair.  He also gave the XGP a new name... The Outlaw Star.  This begins Gene's quest to discover the Galactic Leyline and to discover Melfina's true origins at the same time.

To make ends meet and to cover the upkeep for the Outlaw Star, Gene & Co. would have to do some odd jobs.  At times, he would ask for a loan from his friend and constant business advisor, Fred Luo.  Fred Luo would offer to loan Gene the money at times.  Sometimes, he would not.  Other times, he would offer the money unless Gene would do something in return.  Sometimes, that job would have its perks.  Sometimes, Fred's job would be practical.  Other times, it would be downright embarrassing.  One time, Gene had to compete in a tournament's female competition in drag so that Fred wouldn' be married to the winner.  Not surprisingly, he lost 30 seconds into the match.

Gene did join the race for the Galactic Leyline, thinking that there was a large treasure at the end.  Many others thought so too.  Instead, the Leyline was a treasure but not of gold and jewels... but of knowledge.  The Leyline was a library built by an extinct race, and Melfina the key to opening the Leyline with one command that turned her "off":  "It was you who broke my mason plate".  To turn her off this command had to be spoken aloud:  "Breakfast is signaled with a silver spoon."  Gene and his crew fought against the Kei Pirates' leader, Hazanko, a master at Tao Magic, and Gene won.  Afterwards, the Leyline was moved to a new location, and Melfina discovered that her past was not relevant to her, but her future was.  Since then, Gene & Melfina has become an item.

Unfortunately, love couldn't pay the bills.  After the Leyline incident, Gene had to spend 3 months in a Sentinel III prison for wrecking a spaceport.  Of course, the Kei Pirates were the cause of the disturbance, thus, Gene was given a light sentence.  Should the pirates had not been involved, his pentaly would have been much stiffer.  His IOU became even greater as well... 2.6 Million Wong!  Once again, Gene found himself facing debt.  He had to work odd jobs and other stuff just to reduce his hefty IOUs.  One day, he caught wind of a federation on Earth called the Ultimate Crossover Tournament Fighting.  He also learned that one of his former crewmates, Aisha, attends this federation as well.  He decides to sign up to the federation in hopes of action, fun, time with beauiful women, and hopes of getting out of the red!
Misc. Information
Gene can sometimes be a bit cocky, arrogant, narcissistic... especialy with his companion, Jim Hawking.  Though the two but heads with each other, they still remain close companions.  As for Gene's attitude, however, well... let's just say he would jump in a pool without finding out how deep it is.

Furthermore, when he feels like it, he would have fun whenever he'd like to... although Jim Hawking would like it if Gene would be more serious.  He also fancies himself as a ladies' man.  If he'd find a girl cute enough for his taste, he'd pump out his "Starwind Charm" and try to woo the women to his side.  Sometimes he'd get lucky... sometimes he'd find the proverbial taste slapped out of his mouth.

Although Gene Starwind has a fear of outer space, he can maneuver the Outlaw Star.  To him, piloting the Outlaw Star is not like being in outer space.  Sometimes, his fear of space is so bad, it can paralyze him with fear.

Weapons of Choice
Dagger w/ Jagged Edge
Castor Rifle
Machine Gun
Six-Shooter Pistol
Bazooka
Mecha-Bayonette (A laser rifle with a sharp blade mounted by the gun's barrel.)
Double-Barrel Rifle (One of his favorite weapons.  He'd use this whenever he doesn't need the extra firepower of a grenade or a castor shell.)
Rocket Launcher (Gene uses this whenever he can afford the ammo... and the damage that may come after it.  He'd also use this in an open space like an the arena.  It would be hard for him to use this in a closed space like a hallway.)
Entrance Theme
"Shotgun Blues" by Guns N' Roses
Special Moves
Throwing Dagger:  Gene would toss his dagger as a throwing weapon toward his opponent.  However, he only has one, so when he has to throw it, he'd have to recover to use it again.

Light Shield:  Gene has a special defensive machine that he can use to shield himself from bullets and laser blasts.  He is covered in a bright light that guards him from such weapons.  The light shield is worthless against stronger attacks like castor shells and the like.

Starwind Charm:  Gene would use this only with female opponents and if they're good-looking enough for Gene's taste.  He'd try to charm his opponent by being a nice guy, throwing a few compliments, comment about their figure.  If it works, he'd get lucky.  If not, well... he'd just have to fight.

Bazooka Blast:  Gene would use his bazooka to fire a large blast.  However, he'd use it whenever he really needs to, if he can afford it, and if the situation is right for him to use it.

Grenade Toss:  Gene would throw a grenade that would detonate within ten seconds.  Gene would have to be careful with these because if he is near the grenade when it goes off, he could be caught in the blast as well.

Missile Assault:  Gene would remove his long overcoat, and small missiles would shoot from behind him in a special missile launch pad on his back.  He can carry up to six small missiles on his back, so when he uses this move, he has to make sure it counts.  He uses all six missiles, he cannot get any more until the next match he's in.

Pistol Whip:  Gene would his six-shooter or rifle as a club and strike his opponent with it.  This move is not very affective, but if he has to, why not

Bayonnette Uppercut:  This is the stereotypical uppercut attack with his Mecha-Bayonette for added damage.  Gene cannot use this move with his Mecha-Bayonette.  If he did, it would not be very effective.
Finishing Moves
Starwind Lockup:  He picked up this move during his brief tenure in the Universal Strong Man Tournament's Women's Division.  With his opponent lying face down, he would pull his opponent's arm straight up while having his opponent's leg perpendicular to his opponent's arm.  This move can be very painful, and if Gene moves at the right angle, he could induce bone fracture.

Castor Blast:  Gene would fire a castor bullet from his trusty castor rifle.  A lot of the times, it'll produce an explosive blast.  However, he would use a castor bullet whenever he needs to and can afford it because castor bullets are expensive.  Even then, sometimes he'd be tricked with a dud.  Refer to the Castor Shell section for information on Gene's castor shells.
Castor Shells
Castor Shell #3 (Basic Explosion Castor Shell.  This is most readily available of all castor shell types.  When fired, it'll make your basic explosion toward the Gene's intended target.)

Castor Shell #4 (Implosion Castor Shell.  Gene makes his target implode with this shell.  However, he seldom uses this because this shell will drain its user's life.)

Castor Shell #5 (Combustion Shell.  When activated, it'll make the air around the target spontaneously combust, cloaked in a sheet of flame.)

Castor Shell #9 (Dark Void Shell.  When Gene fires this, out comes this black void that appears to do no damage.  When it makes contact, it will explode with dark energy.  This will also drain its user's life.)

Castor Shell #12 (Electrocution Shell.  This will bombard Gene's targer with electricity.)

Castor Shell #13 (Fire Shell.  Gene fires this, and his castor gun will work like a flamethrower.)

Castor Shell #19 (Mystery Shell.  Anything can happen when Gene uses this castor shell.  Sometimes it'll work wonders for him.  Sometimes, it can do more harm than good.  Other times, it'll be useless.  Gene would rarely use this type of castor shell unless he's very desperate. Not just because he doesn't know what to expect, but because it is one of the most expensive of all the castor shell types.)
