Lion-O
(ThunderCats)

Lion-O comes from the planet Thundera. Years ago, his home planet was on the verge of being torn apart by earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. As a last resort, his people were forced to leave Thundera before it exploded. Back then, Lion-O was only a 12-year-old boy. Lion-O left Thundera along with the noble ThunderCats of Thundera, lead by Jaga at the time. It was there that Jaga have given to Lion-O, despite his tender age, the responsibilities he must endure as the Lord of the ThunderCats. Furthermore, Jaga bestowed to Lion-O the Sword of Omens and within the blade was the Eye of Thundera, a cat's eye jewel that contains all of the ThunderCats' powers.

While in space, the people of Thundera were attacked by an army of warriors known simply as "mutants" from the planet, Plundarr. The army of mutants attacked and destroyed all the ships, killing many innocent Thunderians except for one... the flagship where the ThunderCats boarded. The mutants, lead by Slythe, Monkian, and Jackalman, along with their armies of mutants, attempted to steal the magic sword. They failed and departed the ship, leaving it be... for now. After the attack, the flagship's navigation systems broke down and could not be maneuvered to the planet the ThunderCats were originally headed. Instead, they aimed at another planet... a planet called "Third Earth". Unfortunately, the trip was too long without flying in special pods called "Suspension Capsules". It was either that or perish in space. Therefore, all the ThunderCats, including Lion-O, entered the capsules while Jaga, the eldest of the ThunderCats piloted the spaceship for as long as he could. Ultimately, while flying the flagship to Third Earth, Jaga passed away. His body melted away into nothingness, and his clothes strewn on the chair that he once sat.

Years later, the flagship did manage to reach Third Earth though the flagship crashed. The first to awaken was Lion-O's nursemaid, Snarf. Snarf found Lion-O in his capsule. When the young lord awoke, he discovered that he had grown into an adult. Thus, Lion-O was a child trapped in the body of an adult. Unfortunately, the ThunderCats' flagship was not the only one that entered Third Earth. The starship, piloted by the Mutants of Plundarr. arrived as well. Looking for a chance to kill the ThunderCats, the mutants tried to kill the ThunderCats while they slept quietly in the suspension capsules. However, Lion-O jumped to the scene to stop the mutants to the best of his abilities. While he fought, Snarf found the Sword of Omens and threw it to Lion-O. As it was held in Lion-O's hand, the sword awoke and now can be used by Lion-O. Afterwards, Jaga's spirit came to Lion-O and reminded him of his destiny and the sword he holds. With the Sword of Omens, Lion-O used its power to awaken the ThunderCats. Lion-O and the Thundercats fought the mutants and won, the mutants forced to retreat in their spaceship, thus, the legacy of Lion-O was born.
